Thousand Oaks, CA - Margaret Anne Skinner, 92, of Thousand Oaks, California passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2025.
Born in Rivermines, Missouri to Richard and Lydia Batten, Margaret was a proud graduate of the University of Missouri and earned a degree in Education. She was a teacher prior to having her children, and a school secretary once her youngest child was
in school. Her favorite job, however, was as Grandma.
Margaret married her husband, William, in 1955 and together they raised four
children: Leslie (Kurt), Stacy (Mark), Valerie and William (Nancy). Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sarah, and her husband. She is survived by her children and her grandchildren, Victoria, Madison, Charlie, Tyler and Lily.
Margaret had a passion for playing the piano, and singing bass in her church choir and a Sweet Adelines group. She loved reading, and volunteering at her church's Lunch Bunch and Food Pantry ministries. Her sense of humor and unwavering kindness will be deeply
missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest, Thousand Oaks on November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A livestream link of the service can be found at www.alcto.org the day of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
