Lawrence King (Larry) Obituary

Thousand Oaks - Lawrence "Larry" King, 85, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2025, with his family by his side.

Larry graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1958 and went on to earn his degree from Woodbury University in 1960. Throughout his life, he embraced a variety of careers, most notably serving in multiple capacities with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), where he retired in 1995. His dedication to the firefighting community continued as a member of the Board of Directors for the Firefighters First Credit Union. In his later years, Larry applied his skills as an Independent Tax Preparer, always finding meaningful ways to stay active and serve his community.

Larry, and his wife Debi, traveled to Alaska, Arizona, and Florida to visit their grandchildren. Their last road trip together was to Mobile, Alabama to meet their twin great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind a loving family: four sons—Charlie King, Jeff King and his wife Deb, Scott King, and Dennis King with his wife Sandy; three grandsons—Dustin King and his wife Kellyn, Trenton King and his wife Paige, and Aaron King; and twin great-grandchildren, Theodore and Eleanor King.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Deborah (Debi) King.
