Thousand Oaks - Jeffrey Ross McGraa, a man whose life was a testament to love, generosity, and connection, passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 74, born on August 23, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, to John Robinson McGraa, Jr., and Jean Carl McGraa. Jeff spent his life building bridges between people, whether through his family, his career, or his community.

Jeff's life was a rich tapestry of stories and relationships. He was a devoted husband to Karen Lee McGraa, his wife of 52 years, and a proud father to Jeffrey Ryan McGraa, Robert Ryan McGraa, and Stacy Ann Kranzler. His family extended to his son-in-law, Christoper Kranzler, and his cherished granddaughter, Maddison Ann Kranzler. Jeff's bond with his brothers, both those who survive him, Jay Edward McGraa and John Robinson McGraa, III, and those he joins in rest, James Francis McGraa and Joseph Carl McGraa, was a cornerstone of his life.

After serving as a supply officer on the USS Tripoli in the United States Navy, Jeff embarked on a remarkable 50-year career in commercial banking. From his early days at Union Bank to his instrumental roles in the start-ups of Melon First Business Bank

and First Enterprise Bank, and his eventual retirement with California Bank. Jeff's professional journey was marked by innovation and leadership.

But it was Jeff's personal touch that truly set him apart. He had a gift for making friends and a passion for storytelling that brought people together. Whether at family gatherings or community events, Jeff's warmth and humor left an endurable mark on everyone he met. His generosity knew no bounds; he used his professional network to help those in need access medical treatments and served on multiple boards, including Five Acres.

Jeff's contributions were recognized with numerous awards, including The Wind Beneath My Wings from the Ventura County Women's Network. Yet, it was the love and respect of those who know him that he valued most.

Jeff's funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Paschal Baylon at 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.

Jeffrey Ross McGraa's legacy is one of love, kindness, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
